Is the universe a simulation? Connecting to the matrix movie.
The question “is our universe real?” is a very controversial topic in the world of philosophy. The answers from certain philosophers arise such as, “The universe is a simulation.”
Thus meaning everything we know as existence is justified by the means of supercomputing a vast simulation in which our mind perceive as a very real reality. Great thinkers from Descartes to Plato have considered this possibility. This statement is very difficult to ponder on, however one must keep and open and consider the possibility.
Scientists say that if this were true, we would have to find the final “edges” of the universe. This daunting task is lingering close with the outcome of impossibility. However it is proven modern science can replicate certain parts of the universe but on an immensely small scale. This is connected to the idea that the universe is based upon a numerical simulation on a cubic space-time grid.
The Matrix Trilogy is an interpretation based on the Wachowski twins’ philosophical view of the idea of the universe being a simulation. In the movie each person who is connected to the matrix is trapped in a false reality in which they live and inhabit in their everyday lives. Once taking the “red pill”. True reality unfolds and when re-entering the matrix, the impossible can be done. This theatric explains in a visual sense in which our universe could be in a greater sense.
Whether the universe we know and perceive as to be real is, or a just a super-advanced computer simulation we should enjoy our lives as they, ponder these questions, but let them not consume us. Another thing we need to realize is that false realities are truly present in our society today, certain people tell us what to learn, what to do, and how to live our lives. The world is ours for the taking, all we need to do is believe that we can do anything and conquer anything we out our minds too. Our true potential is waiting for us to discover.
